The "Count" was decommissioned on 05 June 1998 at the Norfolk Naval Shipyard. After almost 20 yrs. of dedicated service, 109 ports, 45 countries & 2627 days underway he was taken out of commission.  He was towed to the Naval Inactive Ship Maintenance Facility (NISMF) to be salvaged and is scheduled for disposal in the future.
